Transfermarkt's market values are world renowned, and quoted by media and clubs throughout the footballing world. So how do Transfermarkt market values work? The market values are calculated by taking into account various pricing models. A major factor is the Transfermarkt community, whose members discuss and evaluate player market values in detail. In general, the Transfermarkt market values are not to be equated with transfer fees. The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value of a player in a free market. Both individual circumstances around a potential transfer and wider factors within the sport are relevant. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (you can find the detailed market value definition here).

So how do you have your say on the market values in the most watched, and most valuable league in the world - the Premier League? You can make yourself heard by creating a Transfermarkt user account and bringing up discussions in our Premier League market value forum. You can make an account quickly and easily by entering your details and registering for free using this Link.

The Premier League market value forum is then the place to have your say, and start discussions about players you think need their market value adjusted. Is Phil Foden overvalued at €100 million? Does Carlos Baleba (€40m) deserve an upgrade? What should be the new market value of €30m-valued Nick Woltemade? Are there other Premier League stars that you think are due a change? Simply click on the 'Community' tab at the top of any TM page, then click on 'Market value analysis'. You will then be taken to the page illustrated below.

From here, you can create or add to a thread about any Premier League player by clicking on 'Forum search' and then searching the player you want to discuss. If for example you search Foden, you would then click on Foden's name and the thread would open with the latest comments from our users on his market value. You can then click 'Reply' to any of the comments and then suggest what you think the player's new market value should be on the market value bar, and then type in your arguments as to why you think that change should be made in the textbox below. Ideally we want your comments to start healthy discussions and debates, so your comments are much more likely to be taken on board if your arguments are well thought out and fair and unbiased.

You can also click on any of the latest players having their market values discussed when you initially click on the 'Market value analysis' page to get involved in the latest debates. At TM, our employees will be consistently monitoring these forums and taking our user's opinions and suggestions on board. So if you want to have your voice heard and have an effect on the market values used globally on players in the biggest league in the world, make sure to get discussing in our forums today. The next Premier League market value update will be on October 17, so get your comments in as soon as possible to have an impact.
