Lamine Yamal delighted to receive Transfermarkt's "Player of the Season" award

This summer Transfermarkt users were once again able to vote for the "Player of the Season" in Europe's strongest leagues. In Spain's LaLiga, Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal was delighted to receive the honour from the TM community and proudly posed with the award on social media. "The response to our Player of the Season award shows the international appeal of Transfermarkt," says Managing Director Thomas Lintz.

"When stars like Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah and Lamine Yamal hold our award in their hands, it is a special tribute to all the users in our community who cast their votes," Lintz continued. In the Spanish top-flight, Yamal, the world's most valuable player with a value of €200 million, won 42.2 percent of all votes, ahead of teammate Raphinha (19.8 per cent) and Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé (18.3 per cent) in second and third place respectively. On Instagram, the superstar, who contributed 43 goals in 58 competitive games for the Catalans last season, thanked the TM community and posted a photo with the award.

TM users were able to vote for their player of the season in a total of 19 leagues worldwide over the summer, with 24 candidates to choose from in each competition. All the winners and results from the top five leagues to Indonesia and Greece can be found in the gallery below.
