This Friday, Thomas Tuchel has officially named his much-anticipated England squad for the 2026 World Cup, and there have been some bombshells. With an abundance of talent to choose from there was always going to be some star names left disappointed, and the list of those who have and haven't made the plane has certainly provided some shocks.

Saudi Pro League's Ivan Toney, Brentford's Jordan Henderson and Newcastle's Dan Burn have all made the cut, but who are the biggest names to miss out? Transfermarkt has calculated a list of the most valuable non-injured players to miss out on a Three Lions call up this summer. There will be market value updates this May and June so many of these player's values are set to change soon.

Most valuable players left out of England squad

Leading the way is Chelsea's Cole Palmer. The attacking midfielder scored in the final of Euro 2024 for the Three Lions and has a current market value of €110m, but has not made the cut for Tuchel after a disappointing campaign. Another attacking midfielder paying the price for an underwhelming season is Manchester City's Phil Foden, who despite being worth €80m, misses out on a major tournament for England for the first time since 2018. The third most valuable star to miss out is Real Madrid's Trent Alexander-Arnold. He has a €65m market value, and pretty much unrivalled passing ability from his position, but Tuchel has chosen not to take the former Liverpool man.

Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton has enjoyed another stellar season and has a €60m market value, but didn't do enough to make the plane. Attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has scored 14 goals in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this season, but that wasn't enough for the €60m-valued man to make the cut. Centre-back Levi Colwill has a €50m market value, but his lack of game-time due to being injured most of the season saw him omitted. Ethan Nwaneri (€40m), Alex Scott (€40m), Trevoh Chalobah (€40m), and Archie Gray (€35m) complete the top 10 of the most valuable English stars who will be watching from home this summer.
