Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be set for yet another dramatic twist in his career path, with reports emerging that the veteran striker is on the verge of terminating his contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah. The 36-year-old, who only joined the ambitious Saudi Pro League outfit last summer, is now being linked with a surprise return to Europe ahead of the 2025/26 season. Having previously starred for clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona, Aubameyang remains a high-profile, if ageing, name in the striker market - and could become a major free agent target in the coming weeks.

Some reports suggest that clubs from the Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1, the Turkish Süper Lig, and the MLS are all on red-alert to potentially pounce and make a move for Aubameyang. Transfermarkt takes a look at the latest developments and picks out five clubs who could perhaps make a move for the prolific Gabonese forward this summer.

Five clubs who could sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer

Manchester United

Ruben Amorim's Manchester United have been linked with a whole host of strikers this summer, and while it seems unlikely they would make a move for veteran Aubameyang, it cannot be completely ruled out. The club are limited on funds as they currently struggle to shift players who are no longer wanted, and Aubameyang could represent a cheap Premier League-proven option to aid Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee up top for the Red Devils.

Galatasaray

Reports suggest clubs in Turkey are also showing some interest in Aubameyang, and despite the majority of their focus being on signing Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal, Istanbul giants Galatasaray could also bolster their ranks with the former Arsenal's man's experience. The completed signing already of Leroy Sané highlights Gala's ambition this summer.

AC Milan

One Serie A side who could be on red alert are Aubameyang's former team AC Milan. The 36-year-old played for the Italian giants' youth ranks but never made a first-team appearance for the side. At the other end of his career, he could perhaps put that right and add some experience to Max Allegri's team as they look to improve on last term's miserable season. AC Milan have been known to sign a striker at the twilight of his career in recent years.

Saint-Étienne

Another one of Aubameyang's old teams who could look to bring him back are French side Saint-Étienne. He recently visited his old club, and a fairytale return could be on the cards this summer. He scored 41 goals in 97 matches for the Ligue 1 side before signing for Borussia Dortmund in 2013, and is love at the club.

Inter Miami

Some reports have suggested that MLS clubs are also interested in acquiring Aubameyang's services this summer. Lionel Messi's Inter Miami look set to have a busy summer to improve their squad and persuade the Argentine magician to stay - could they perhaps bring the former Barcelona striker in to aid their attack?
