Ever wondered who the top scorer is in matches you have actually attended in person? Or how many stadiums you have actually been to? What about the win percentage of your team in games you've watched live? Or how many countries you have watched matches in? Well, don't worry, Transfermarkt have you covered for all of this and more with our incredible Groundhopping tool.
Every user can access this and then simply search the teams of the game they have just attended and add the match to their very own database. From the San Siro to Old Trafford, from an El Clásico to an Old Firm derby, ahead of the new season, you can log every step of your very own footballing journey right here at Transfermarkt. You can also log any professional game, whether it was the time you watched Red Star Belgrade in Serbia, or the occasion in which you watched a third division side on your holiday in Spain.
How does Transfermarkt's Groundhopping tool work?
The only requirement before you can participate is to register as a Transfermarkt user if you don't already have an account. Then simply click on your user icon in the top right corner of the Transfermarkt website, and then underneath 'My Profile' click on 'Groundhopping tool'. That will take you to the page where the magic happens. You will see a map and on the right all of your stats. Simply scroll down the page and you will see 'Add Match'. You can then search for the two teams you watched, and every game they have played will come up, as shown below using the example of Barcelona vs Real Madrid.
You then find which game was the one you attended and click the stadium icon to the right of the fixture to add it to your database. The icon will turn from blue to green. As you add more games, you will see your very own personalised statistics revealed. You can see the player's you have watched the most, the stars who have scored the most in your presence, the most valuable footballers you have ever watched. You will also have access to the record of every manager in matches you've attended, as well as general stats from everything to the amount of red cards witnessed to the number of players seen live (as showcased in screenshot below).
There's nowhere else where you can see such detailed stats personalised to your very own experience as a football fan. Build your own map, build your very own database. And then show off to your mates in the pub about the amount of grounds and matches you have been to. It takes a lot off dedication to be a loyal football fan, and often doesn't come with much appreciation. But on Transfermarkt's Groundhopping tool you can showcase every step you've made.
