Michael Olise’s career has skyrocketed across the last few years and he’s developed into a truly world-class winger at Bayern Munich. Germany’s premier side invested €53 million to acquire Olise from Crystal Palace in 2024 and it has proved an inspired investment.
The mercurial winger always possessed incredible talent as he progressed through some of the best English academies at Manchester City and Chelsea. But Olise had to truly forge his reputation at Reading and Crystal Palace before earning his move to one of the biggest clubs in the world. The 23-year-old is now a full French international and he’s blossomed under the tutelage of Vincent Kompany, adding maturity to his game to become one of the most valuable players in the world.

After the latest Bundesliga market value update, Olise received a €30 million upgrade to reflect his brilliant start to the season. The English-born winger’s valuation has increased to €130m, which means that he is the second most valuable player in Germany, behind Bayern teammate Jamal Musiala. Moreover, Olise is now ranked as the 10th most valuable player in the world, as the graphic below illustrates.
Olise’s market value stood at €55m when he completed his move to Bayern but his valuation has soared by an incredible €75m, since moving to Germany. In this calendar year, Olise’s value has increased by an extraordinary €65m and no player has received a bigger upgrade across 2025. The Bayern star’s current valuation is in stark contrast to when he received his first market value of €100k at Reading in 2019. As the graphic below highlights, Olise’s value rose steadily during his professional career in England but it’s truly surged since moving to Bayern and it’s clear why.
Michael Olise: Bayern Munich brilliance
A few eyebrows might be raised at the extent of Olise’s market value rise since moving to Germany but his numbers are truly impressive. The winger has scored 25 goals and provided 29 assists across 65 appearances for the Bavarian club. Olise’s performances are constantly improving and he’s averaging 1.22 goal contributions per 90 minutes this season.
While it’s unquestionably easier for attacking players to put up excellent attacking numbers in the Bundesliga than in the Premier League, Olise is also shining in the Champions League with 11 goal contributions in 16 games. After a starring performance in the Champions League against Chelsea, Kompany eulogised over the winger. “Michael Olise is turning into a superstar,” said Kompany. “You can coach and help many players in training, but Michael just has that special talent. He is a joy to watch”.
Olise has been a revelation at Bayern and his attacking output has improved considerably since his Crystal Palace days. The winger scored 16 goals and 25 assists across 90 appearances for the Eagles at an average of 0.64 goal contributions per 90 minutes, but his productivity has improved at Bayern. Olise is average 1.05 goal involvements per 90 at the Bundesliga champions as he’s delivered on his incredible potential to become one of the best wingers in the world.
