Curtis Jones faces an uncertain future at Liverpool with the midfielder reportedly considering whether to depart his boyhood club. It’s understood that the 25-year-old holds frustrations over his role under Arne Slot, specifically his lack of starts. Jones has still started 23 games across all competitions but only 13 in the Premier League and a decision on his future has to be made this summer. The Englishman will enter the last 12 months of his contract and Liverpool will realistically look to cash in on Jones, if he refuses to sign a new deal.
The midfielder was strongly linked with leaving in January but Slot wanted him to stay and he praised Jones in February when quizzed on his future. “He is a Liverpool player and I think I have said this a few times, he is good enough to play for us, to start for us,” said Slot. “He will be part of our plans for the upcoming weeks, months and also for next season.” Jones is realistically behind Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz in the pecking order. With speculation growing that Jones could bid farewell to Liverpool this summer, we’ve analysed four potential destinations.

Four transfer destinations for Curtis Jones
Villa are the frontrunners to sign Jones this summer, according to talkSPORT. Unai Emery’s men have been linked to the Liverpool star previously and they look destined to secure Champions League football next season. Villa have strong midfield options, so Jones would face competition for a starting place but he’d back himself to become a key player. The midfielder currently has a market value of €35 million on Transfermarkt and a fee around that wouldn’t deter Villa.
Inter Milan
Inter Milan wanted to sign Jones on-loan in January and they could revive their interest this summer. Italian clubs notoriously target bargain deals in the transfer market and Jones’ contract situation will be hugely appealing. Serie A would suit the midfielder stylistically and it would allow him to play at the highest level in the Champions League.

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham have also been linked but a potential move to North London is dependent on whether they can avoid relegation from the Premier League. Spurs will undergo a major rebuild if they stay in the top-flight and Jones would solve a weakness in their squad as they lack a midfielder who can dictate games. He would also fit Roberto De Zerbi’s philosophy and Spurs would have no problems affording him.
Newcastle United
Newcastle have monitored Jones in the past and they could finally move for him, if he decides to leave Liverpool. The Magpies will likely have to sell one of their prized assets this summer to balance the books and Sandro Tonali could be that player. Jones would be a very good replacement for the Italian international and it would be a good fit.
