While the Premier League may be the competition that draws in the best footballers from around the world, when it comes to winning trophies and silverware in English football nothing offers the history and prestige of the FA Cup. Since 1871, the cup competition has set a gold standard for knock-out football across the sport and to this day remains a high point in any player’s career if they’re lucky enough to win the famous trophy. So which players have had the most success in the competition in the last 154 years?
To no great surprise, this list of the most successful players in FA Cup history is dominated by players from the modern era, who played for clubs that had the financial might to win successive league and cup titles in English football. Undoubtedly, the player that enjoyed success at two such teams was Ashley Cole, who won three FA Cups with Arsenal and then went on to win four more with Chelsea between 2002 and 2012. No other player has won as many FA Cups as the former England left-back.

Just below Cole are no less than three players that share second place with five titles each. Two fellow Chelsea team mates in Petr Cech and John Terry, alongside former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira. Not only do these players stand out as club legends for their respective clubs but for also reaching a level of success in English football that has only been achieved by four players. They also sit above no less than 21 players that have won the competition four times.
