New feature on Transfermarkt

Market values are at the heart of Transfermarkt – and they are meant to be discussed globally. Previously, each of the 27 domains had its own market value analysis, but now this can be done in a single forum without language barriers. In the future, further leagues will also be integrated so that even more market values can be discussed by the community.

This is now possible with the new translation feature in Transfermarkt’s market value analysis! Whereas you previously had to switch domains to determine the new market values with football fans from all over the world, the translation feature simplifies international exchange. From now on, every user on every domain has direct access to every discussion thread!
“Having already successfully internationalised the Rumour Mill, the Market Value Analysis is now the second forum where Transfermarkt is pursuing this global approach,” says Christian Schwarz, Head of International. “Our aim is to offer our users worldwide a better opportunity to participate in market values and exchange their arguments in discussions with users from other countries. The input from the international Transfermarkt community will continue to be an important basis for our market value team when determining values.”
How Transfermarkt market values work
The Transfermarkt market values are calculated, taking into account various pricing models. A major factor is the Transfermarkt community, whose members discuss and evaluate player market values in detail. In general, the Transfermarkt market values are not to be equated with transfer fees.
The goal is not to predict a price but an expected value of a player in a free market. Both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant in determining market values.
