With the 2025/26 Premier League season now fading into the distance, and the World Cup firmly on the horizon, we can begin to look back across an enthralling season in the English top-flight. Arsenal got their hands on the title for the first time in 22 years, whilst West Ham were relegated and newly-promoted Sunderland stormed into Europe. But which players had a season to forget? We have calculated the Premier League players to lose the most market value on Transfermarkt across the course of the 2025/26 campaign. If players have an equal drop in value, they are ranked by the highest current market value.

Premier League players to lose most value last season

Leading the way with the unwanted tag of first place in this category is Manchester City's Rodri. The 2024 Ballon d'Or winner started the season with a market value of €110 million, but over the season, largely due to age and injuries, the Spaniard lost as much a -€60m in value; the midfielder, who will turn 30 this month, is now worth just €50m. Second place goes to Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka. Despite the Gunners collective success, individually it was somewhat a disappointing season for the Englishman, and across last season he lost -€40m in market value. However, he is still worth €110m and remains the third most valuable player in the league.

Florian Wirtz struggled during his first season on English soil, and also saw his market value drop by -€40m last season to a new value of €100m - he takes third. Another big-money Liverpool signing who struggled was striker Alexander Isak; the Swede takes fourth having seen his value drop by -€35m in an injury-ravaged campaign. Tottenham's Dejan Kulusevski didn't play a single minute last season, and saw his market value drop by -€33m over the campaign - he is fifth. Three players then dropped by -€30m: Phil Foden (€70m), Alexis Mac Allister (€70m), and Xavi Simons (€40m). Mohamed Salah with a -€28m drop to €22m, and Omar Marmoush with a -€25m drop to €50m complete the top 10.

James Maddison (€20m) is 11th with a -€22m drop, whilst four players then have suffered a -€20m downgrade across last season: Cole Palmer (€100m), Martin Ødegaard (€65m), Jamie Gittens (€30m), and Manuel Ugarte (€25m). Karou Mitoma (€22m) and Roméo Lavia (€22m) have both suffered -€18m drops, whilst there was a -€17m drop for Alejandro Garnacho (€28m), a -€16m drop for Bernardo Silva (€22m), and a -€15m drop for the departing Ibrahima Konaté (€45m).
