Finally leaves Man United - Four clubs who could sign Jadon Sancho on free transfer this summer

This Wednesday, Manchester United confirmed that winger Jadon Sancho will depart the club as a free agent following the conclusion of his contract at the end of the month. The Englishman moved to Old Trafford for an eye-watering €85 million in 2021 from Borussia Dortmund, but has not played for the Red Devils since the Community Shield in August 2024, and has endured a very difficult time in the North-West.

United confirmed that Sancho would be leaving the club alongside full-back Tyrell Malacia and midfielder Casemiro. The signing of Sancho will go down as one of the all-time clangers from Man United, but at his best Sancho can still be a valuable asset to many clubs in Europe. Here at Transfermarkt, we have picked out four clubs who could sign the 26 year old this summer on a free transfer.

Four clubs who could sign Jadon Sancho

Borussia Dortmund

The first place to look is the club where Sancho really made his name in Europe: Borussia Dortmund. Sancho shone at Signal Iduna Park scoring 53 goals and providing 67 assists in just 158 games for the Bundesliga giants. He also performed well on a brief loan spell back to the club in the 2023/24 campaign. Reports in March suggested that Dortmund would be interested in bringing him back to the club for a third time this summer, although his wage demands could prove to be a stumbling block.

Aston Villa

Sancho spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, but failed to have much of an impact, scoring just one goal and providing just three assists in 39 games. However, recent reports suggest that the Midlands club could still be interested in bringing him to the club permanently on a free transfer. Having already worked with Unai Emery, perhaps the Spaniard may now have ideas to bring the best out of Sancho.

Fenerbahce

Could a move to Türkiye revive Sancho's career? The Englishman has been linked with a move to Süper Lig giants Fenerbahce this calendar year, and with the league keen to add more superstars to grow it's reputation, Sancho, in his prime years at 26, could perhaps be the next big signing. Some reports suggest that last summer, they failed to convince him to make a move to the club, but that could be different this time around.

Napoli

Scott McTominay 2.0? We saw the Scot thrive at Napoli after leaving Man United two years ago, with Rasmus Højlund also thriving after making the same move last summer. Sancho could potentially make the same transfer to resurrect his fortunes this summer. The Italian giants have been linked with him in the past and will be looking to add more firepower to their attack to aid a better showing in the Champions League this term.
