The first mega-money transfer of what looks set to be a busy summer window saw Barcelona swiftly wrap up the signing of Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon. The Catalan giants paid an initial €80 million to bring the 26 year old to the Camp Nou. Gordon signed for the Magpies from Everton in 2022, but had a mixed bag of a season, scoring 10 goals in the Champions League but just six in the entire Premier League season. Nonetheless, his lucrative move to the LaLiga giants sees him climb the list of the highest accumulated transfer fees for English players, but where does Gordon rank?

Leading the way is superstar Jude Bellingham, who already, at just 22 years of age, has racked up €157 million's worth of transfers. Borussia Dortmund signed him from boyhood club Birmingham when he was just 17 for €30m, before Real Madrid splashed €127m in 2023 to bring the Englishman to the Santiago Bernábeu. Gordon is actually now second on the list, accumulating €126m. Newcastle paid Everton €46m for the winger before selling him on for €80m. Raheem Sterling is third at €121m following transfers to Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.
Jack Grealish is fourth solely from his mega-money €118m move from Aston Villa to Man City - the only permanent transfer of his career to date. It's a similar story for Declan Rice, who is fifth after moving to Arsenal from West Ham for €117m. Jadon Sancho (€112m), Harry Maguire (€104m), Harry Kane (€95m), Noni Madueke (€91m) and Eberechi Eze (€87m) complete the top 10.
