PSG were crowned champions of France once again after a 2-0 win over their title rivals Lens in the penultimate league game of the season. Lens have represented unlikely challengers to the Parisian giants in Ligue 1 this campaign but they need a win at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis to take it to the final day of the season. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, however, was the hero for visitors, netting the winning goal just before the half hour mark before Ibrahim Mbaye added a second in injury time to clinch the title for Luis Enrique’s men.

PSG have been the dominant force in French football for over a decade after the investment from Qatari Sports Investments and they’ve now been crowned champions 12 times in the last 14 seasons. Les Rouge-et-Bleu have prioritised the Champions League again this season with numerous influential players repeatedly rested in the league but no other side in French football can compete with their squad depth or quality.
Attention will now switch to the upcoming Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30th with PSG aiming to successfully defend their title. Under the guidance of Enrique, PSG have switched their policy from signing superstar players to form a more cohesive team and it's worked wonders. The Spaniard has now won 20 major trophies in his managerial career and he's equalled Lauren Blanc for most trophies as PSG manager as he builds an iconic legacy in the French capital.

Speaking after the win, Enrique lavished praise on Lens for their title challenge, stating: "Lens did a great job. It's my toughest championship title since I arrived at PSG. We tried to play like it was a Champions League match. That was the case because Lens will play in the Champions League. Lens deserved better, but Safonov had an incredible match."
