The March international break offers time for reflection on what we have bared witness too so far this Premier League season. There has been no shortage of drama, controversy and talking points. We are all set for a thrilling title race between Arsenal and Manchester City, a heated battle for the Champions League places, and an enthralling dogfight to avoid relegation. With seven game-weeks to go, it's all to play for.

When it comes to the mangers in the dugout, there have been some big changes this season. Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham have all changed their manager. Nottingham Forest have done it three times. But which bosses have performed best and worst? Here at Transfermarkt, we have calculated the Premier League points-per-game (ppg) records of all 26 managers to have taken charge of three or more games this season. The results may come as a surprise.

The Premier League's best managers this season

Leading the way is actually current Man United boss Michael Carrick. From his 10 Premier League games in charge, the Englishman boasts a record of 2.30ppg, placing him at the top of the tree. Carrick narrowly beats second-placed Mikel Arteta, who's record of 2.26ppg over 31 matches sees Arsenal currently top the Premier League table. In third is Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, with a record of 2.03ppg from 30 games. In fourth is Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, who has taken 1.74ppg. Taking fifth place is actually Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior; despite currently being under pressure, he has a record of 1.70ppg in the Premier League with the Blues.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot is sixth with 1.58ppg over 31 matches, and is closely followed by former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca - also with 1.58ppg but from just 19 games. Behind them in eighth is former Man Utd manager Rúben Amorim with 1.55ppg. Brentford's Keith Andrews and Everton's David Moyes take ninth and tenth with 1.48ppg. It's then Fulham's Marco Silva (1.42ppg), Brighton's Fabian Hürzeler (1.39ppg), Sunderland's Régis Le Bris (1.39ppg), Newcastle's Eddie Howe (1.35ppg) and Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola (1.35ppg).

The Premier League's worst managers this season

Now, for the other end of the scale, as we look at the managers that have struggled this term. We will start with 16th and work our way down. Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner has a record of 1.30ppg and is followed in 17th by former Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche (1.22ppg) who was sacked earlier this year after just 18 Premier League matches in charge. Ex-Tottenham boss Thomas Frank is 18th with 1.12ppg from 26 matches. Leeds' Daniel Farke (1.06ppg) is 19th, whilst Nuno Espírito Santo completes the top 20 after spells in charge of both Forest and West Ham have equated to 1.03ppg this term.

Wolves manager Rob Edwards is 21st with 0.75ppg from his 20 games in charge. Scott Parker looks destined to send Burnley down and has just 0.65ppg this season. Former West Ham manager Graham Potter (0,60ppg), who managed just five games before being sacked by the Hammers this term, is 23rd. Current Forest boss and former Wolves boss earlier in the campaign, Vitor Pereira is 24th with 0.47ppg from 15 games. Keeping each other warm at the bottom are current Tottenham boss Igor Tudor, and former Spurs manager, but who is on the list for his five games with Forest this term, Ange Postecoglou. They both have a shocking record of 0.20 ppg from five games.
