The latest Eredivisie market value update has been released with 136 players in the Dutch top-flight having their valuations adjusted. The headline news was Ismael Saibari remaining the most valuable player at €32 million with Ricardo Pepi (€25m) rising into the top three - you can read a detailed breakdown of the update here. Another fascinating aspect of the update was the growth of several talented youngsters that are tipped to have a very bright future.
Eredivisie clubs have produced some exceptional talents across the last decade before selling them for substantial fees. Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt announced themselves in the Ajax team that agonisingly missed out on the Champions League final in 2019. The Netherlands international duo subsequently earned moves to Juventus and Barcelona respectively, while Jorrel Hato, Cody Gakpo, Mohammed Kudus and Jurriën Timber have all moved to Premier League clubs for fees in excess of €35m in recent years. Therefore, Transfermarkt has analysed five exceptional talents who are on the radars of leading English clubs.
Five Eredivisie wonderkids tipped for Premier League moves
Givario Read remains the most valuable U21 player in the Eredivisie, alongside Kees Smit. The 19-year-old is viewed as a future starter for the Dutch national team and he’s already amassed 50 appearances for Feyenoord. Read is the most valuable player at the Rotterdam club and he’s the fourth most valuable U21 right-back in the world - first outside of the Premier League. Read has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool and that’s understandable given their issues at right-back, while Manchester City has also been linked
Kees Smit is widely viewed as the best prospect in the Eredivisie and he’s tipped for stardom. The AZ Alkmaar star has earned comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne, while Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has likened him to the aforementioned De Jong and admitted he could make the World Cup squad. Smit is incredibly composed in possession with a fantastic passing range. Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have scouted the midfielder but they will face competition this summer from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Mika Godts is enjoying a phenomenally productive season for a faltering Ajax side. The 20-year-old has registered 21 goal contributions in 24 league goals and he’s unlikely to remain at Ajax next season. The Belgian earned a €10m upgrade in the update to his current valuation of €25m but that price tag won’t deter potential suitors with Liverpool and Tottenham recently linked.
It’s a matter of when, not if, Ruud Nijstad joins a major European club. The wonderkid is enjoying his breakthrough season at FC Twente and they hope to earn a club record fee this summer - you can read a detailed profile on Nijstad here. As a left-footed centre-back, Nijstad is highly-desirable and Barcelona backed away from a January deal, which has opened the door for Man City and Chelsea.
Jorthy Mokio is approaching 50 appearances for Ajax and he gained experience of Champions League football this season. The 18-year-old has earned comparisons to N’Golo Kante due to his playstyle and the defensive midfielder has been linked with numerous Premier League clubs, including Man United and Arsenal.
